Shitripper are a long running Auckland Hardcore Punk band. After various member changes they have settled and have been making a name for themselves touring Aussie and opening for international acts such as Municipal Waste, Nasum and Suicidal Tendencies. Ois 2 Men - Hairs to Oi! (2008)

Ois II Men were a hilarious piss take Oi band from Christchurch. They sang about hating Rugby, getting pissed, eating pies and small towns, solid Kiwiana themes. They won a competition that gave them a chance to play at the local KFC which everyone had a good laugh at (there's some YouTube videos somewhere). They release 1 demo, 1 ep and this full length album. The members all were/are involved in other projects to look out for. Hairs To Oi! is the full length, The other stuff will be posted after.

Wizz Kids (2013)

Wizz Kids are from Hamilton and play fast punk, featuring members from Aborted Christians, Wasteland and Aborted Christians, they play sort of 80s sounding skate punk that sounds fucking rad. This is their side of their recently released split cassette with Hamilton's blackened D-Beat outfit Spiteful Urinator, available (though limited to 50 copies) through Wellington's Zero Style.

Aborted Christians - SUBMISSION, FORGIVENESS, DEATH! (2010)

Aborted Christians are/were a grindcore band from Hamilton, who played unholy, evil, blackened grindcore. They had several released over the years, including a split 7" with Wellington powerviolence duo Police Lineup. This is their 2010 album, SUBMISSION, FORGIVENESS, DEATH! and its fucking brilliant. Short, fast, loud, guttural screaming. One of the best grindcore bands in this country.

Natural Glow - Young, Gifted, & Fat (2010?)

Named after Suzanne Paul's beauty product of the same name, Natural Grow are an all girl hardcore punk band from Wellington. I'm pretty sure I saw them at Punkfest 2010, though I was very drunk that weekend and can't quite remember. I eventually heard them on "The Arse End of the World" compilation released by Always Never Fun Records in 2011, and their two tracks "Young, Gifted, & Fat" and "RTDs" were fucking rad. This is angry, aggressive hardcore punk and their whole album is great. I'm not actually sure what year this was released, but I'm pretty sure it was around 2010-2011, check it out.

Wasteland - Demo (2008)

Wasteland were a hardcore band from Hamilton, New Zealand who fucking ruled. Fast, aggressive, to the point. They also released a split with a hardcore band from the USA called Disconnected and were featured on the 2011 NZ compilation "Welcome To The Arse End of the World". I heard talk of a full length album a few years ago but haven't heard about it since. Anyways, this is a fucking rad release.

Vilopticon - Merry Christmas Baby (200?)

Vilopticon were a short lived Sludge Metal band around Auckland, Sean Ginge was the singer but I'm not sure of the rest. I believe they had a couple of recording of full concept albums but no idea where they could be! Anyway I received this lovely present in the mail 1 year for Christmas, they do some hilarious doomy/sludgey covers of Rudolph the red noised reindeer, jingle bells, I saw mummy kissing Santa Claus among others. Its pretty awesome, real garage quality low fi stuff that will get you pissed on Christmas.

Suicide Dogs - Breakin Away (2006)

 Suicide Dogs were another Auckland band on Puppy Killer Records the formed in 2005. They played a Rancid, Social Distortion influenced punk. They had members from other sweet NZ band such as Mistaken Identity and Graveyard Rumble. This was there only release. They opened for a few international bands then went their separate ways, with their singer going on to form King Cannons.

Hatewanx were a Thrash/Cross over Thrash/ Punk band from Christchurch that were around from about 2008-2010. After releaseing the solid album 'When Animals Attack' they managed to pull off a sweet as New Zealand tour playing all the main cities. Eventually they called it quits, and went on to form other musical projects etc

The Wrongmen were a hardcore band from Auckland, featuring members of Evil Priest. They played very chaotic, energetic hardcore, and members have since gone on to form other bands such as Oil Barrons. This album was/is one of my favorite NZ releases. Garage Fodder - Scum Beat (2004) / They Make The Rules (2010)

Garage Fodder were a West Auckland Punk band that formed in the early 2000s. They played a raw punk/street punk sound. After playing heaps of gigs around Auckland over the years they released a new album in 2010 (which including a re-release of Scum Beat) and soon after stopped playing shows. If you never saw them these albums definitely worth listening to!

Theres a lot thats been said about Missing Teeth, but I can't really be bothered rehashing it all. These guys were one of the best punk acts to come out of Auckland, they fucking clocked it. Two Wolves are a  Stoner Rock/ Bluesy/ Country band that just formed in late 2012 with members from various punk bands (Tentacles Of Destruction, Kia Kaha Kids etc). They are releasing an album "Peal and Roar of Distant Thunder" around August 2013 (that these tracks are from) which will be accompanied by a New Zealand Tour. They have been playing heaps of show around Auckland so see them while you can!
